We've always liked our traditional Indian teas strong and simple — just cinnamon, clove and cardamom. To put a Maine spin on things, we've added bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus), boosting chai's inherent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, detoxifying properties.
This is a limited-edition release in unlabeled packaging. Note that this is a proper, traditional chai. Brewing time is around 25 minutes and is a bit more involved than instant chai. See below. We recommend brewing a batch and refrigerating the extra.
Pour water into a pan. Add tea (use a tea infuser or muslin cloth if you don't want to use a strainer later). Bring to boil, partially cover pan and simmer about 20 minute.. If desired, add milk and heat through without boiling until hot. Pour, add sweetener if desired and enjoy! (Suggested ratio is 2 tsp tea : 3 cups liquid. If you like milky chai, split the liquid measurement in half between water and milk.)
